This event was special for both us at Urban Challenger and the HiBob team. Given HiBob's philosophy of creating a splendid company culture that goes beyond happy hours, it's no surprise that they had a fancy idea for their team day. HiBob offers impressive HR management tools to help you stay in tune with your team's needs.
What made this event unique? We had the privilege of leading the entire team from their old office near the memorial site at Bernauer Straße in Mitte to their new space at the impressive Fora Pressehaus near Volksbühne theatre, also in Mitte. However, the teams were not informed of their destination in advance, as the new workplace was intended to be a surprise.
Our Urban Challenger game required some initial adjustments because it's not a conventional scavenger hunt where teams solve puzzles and move from one clue to the next. We deliberately give teams a lot of freedom to choose their own path, thereby allowing them to have significant ownership of their experience.
Fortunately, we also provide direct feedback from our Game Host to the teams during gameplay. This enabled us to gradually reveal the game's final destination, keeping it a secret for most of the time. We designed some unique challenges specifically for this event near the new office, such as striking a theatrical pose at the stairway in front of the renowned Volksbühne building. Once the challenge was completed, part of the exact coordinates for the new office was revealed.
The teams thoroughly enjoyed themselves and went above and beyond to complete various challenges. One team even snuck into an elevator at a neighboring office building to fulfill the challenge of reaching a high lookout spot. With just a few seconds left, they managed to upload their picture taken from the high spot. Their joyful faces in the photo narrate how such a small achievement and adventure can significantly boost morale when appreciated.
The award ceremony took place in the Sky Lounge of the Fora Pressehaus, the company's new office building. This stunning location excited the team as they looked forward to calling it their new workspace. Being part of this company's incredible energy was a delight for me. I received heartfelt hugs from satisfied customers and received feedback that spoke volumes:
